The painting on the main altar: “Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary”.

The existing altar with the image of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is already the fifth main altar in the Bielany church. The previous one burned down in a fire in 1814. The painting dates from the 19th century and was painted by Michal Stachowicz, a well-known Cracow artist, who became famous mainly for the landscapes of our city. There are two bright elements in the rather dark-colored painting that draw attention: the halo of Mary at the top, and the red robe in the lower left corner. The painting is decorated with stucco ornaments, making it quite suitable for the baroque interior of the church.
