St. Sebastian chapel (Lubomirski’s chapel): the portal

The decorative entrance to the chapel is made of black marble and crowned with the Lubomirski family crest. The crest shield in alabaster relief is carried by three angels (putto).

St. Sebastian’s chapel was founded by Stanislaw Lubomirski, the governor of Cracow (1583-1649) to honor his dead father and the cofounder of the hermitage, Sebastian Lubomirski (ca. 1546-1613)
