Eremite house
Each of the cottages has a small garden, where a monk can grow flowers, for example. The arrangement of rooms in the cottage is unchangeable. The main room contains a simple bed (Camaldolese monks do not use pillows or soft quilts), and a desk, where the monks read. There is also a room for eating and a toilet. In addition, in each cottage there is a small chapel for individual prayer.
Only the resident eremite or his superior can enter the cottage. The exceptions are ill brothers – these are allowed to be visited by fellow monks.
