The portrait of Nicholas Wolski

The painting, by Venante of Subiaco from the first half of the 17th century, depicts the monastery’s founder, Grand Marshal of the Crown Nicholas Wolski. Wolski, dressed in a black robe, holds a marshal’s staff in his right hand. On a cloth-covered table there is a black hat decorated with gold and pearls. Wolski’s crest, the Half-Cossack, is visible in the upper right corner.
