Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel – vault decoration

The Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel draws attention with its ornate Baroque vault with fine stucco ornamentation. Between the gilded decorations, there are eight painted scenes. They depict biblical scenes featuring Michael the Archangel, with God the Father throning in the center above the altar.

It is known that the chapel was decorated by Piotr Brygielski (ca. 1630-1718), a painter from Cieszyn. However, some specialists attribute these paintings to Jan Proszowski (1599-1674).
