Chapel of St. Romuald : miraculous painting of Our Lady Queen of Eremites

The authorship of this beautiful painting is attributed to Vanante of Subiaco, a Camaldolese painter. What draws the viewer’s attention, is the dress of Mary and the background of the painting, both made of silver. Celebrating a funeral Mass in front of this painting resulted in a plenary indulgence for the soul of the dead person for whose intention the Mass was offered.
